China Mobile Tops Second Quarter Complaint List

China Mobile made the top of the Ministry of Information Industry's latest quarterly survey on telecom services complaints.

The ministry's customer complaint service center received 1,305 complaints and comments about Chinese carriers during the quarter, 92 of which were investigated. Of those, 33 involved China Mobile.

China's fixed line incumbent, China Telecom, was just behind with 32 complaints, followed by China Unicom with 19, and Jitong with two.

The MII did not reveal the outcome of the investigations.

The quarterly figures showed that quality of service and billing remain customers' biggest concerns. Of the 92 investigated cases, 44 were related to quality of service and 38 for billing.

China Telecommunications (Group) Co. and the China Mobile Telecommunications (Group) Co. are the two giant groups established at the same time on April 20.
