Li Peng Arrives in Hanoi for Official & Goodwill Visit

Li Peng, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China(CPC) Central Committee and China's top legislator, arrived in Hanoi at noon Friday for an official and goodwill visit to Vietnam at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam(CPV) and the Standing Committee of Vietnamese National Assembly(VNA).

It is Li's first visit to Vietnam as the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress(NPC), China's top legislature. It is also an exchange of another high-level visit between China and Vietnam following a series of visits by top leaders of the two countries in recent years.

During the four-day visit, Li will meet and hold talks with leaders of the CPV, the VNA and the Vietnamese government to exchange views on further enhancing the long-term, future-oriented, good-neighborly and all-round cooperative relations between the two countries.
