4 People Killed in San Francisco

Four people were found shot to death Sunday in a home in San Francisco, U.S., police said.

Police found the bodies of two adults and two girls in one room of the home at 9:45 a.m. Inspector Philip Fee said the motive for the shooting was unknown, and no suspect was in custody.

Police Lt. Judie Pursell would not say if police believed they were killed by an intruder or died in a murder-suicide. She said officers had no previous contact with people in the home. Police declined to release any other information.

Marlo Contreras, who lives across the street from the home, said she heard four shots around 6 a.m.

Contreras said the couple who lived in the home and their children were quiet and friendly, and had lived in the middle-class neighborhood for at least four years.
