China Cancels Flights to US, All US-Bound Planes Land Safely

China has ordered cancellation of all four regular flights to the United States on September 12 to ensure flight safety, a source with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) told Xinhua Wednesday.

Comprehensive safety arrangements have been made for all other flights to overseas, the source said.

The source said that two Chinese planes en route to the United States when the severe attacks in the United States happened late last night have already landed safely in Canada and the United States, respectively.

Of the two planes, China Eastern Airlines' MU583 landed in Vancouver of Canada and MU5787 cargo plane landed in a military airport of the United States.

Meanwhile, Air China's CA985 passenger plane bound for the United States is to land in Vancouver soon.

The CAAC has ordered offices of Chinese airlines in the United States and Canada to make proper arrangement for the three planes.

Xinhua learned that there is no Chinese plane in any US airport when the disasters happened.
