World Animals' Day Activities Held in Shanghai Zoo

Animals were not left out of the National Day holiday festivities taking place throughout the country. The Shanghai Zoo held a host of activities to celebrate World Animals' Day. Breaking with tradition the zoo allowed visitors to bring their pets here to compete for the best pet awards.

Not normally seen inside a zoo, these dogs and cats, came along with their owners to make some friends and also to show off.The pets displayed their skills, vying for the Best Pets Awards.Because of new changes to the zoo, the distance between the animals and the visitors is a much closer one.

In the recently established Monkey Park, visitors can see these unusual looking monkeys through the low glass walls. Elsewhere, people could play with peacocks and feed the Sika deers.
