East China Province Marks 90th Anniversary of 1911 Revolution

A grand rally was held Wednesday in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution led by Dr.Sun Yat-sen.

Song Defu, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China spoke at the gathering. He said that over 20 of the 72 martyrs at Huanghuagang came from Fujian.

"We mark the 90th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution with the goal of promoting national reunification," he said.

Song noted that many Taiwan compatriots' families originally came from Fujian. Fujian is in a specific position in developing relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits and pushing forward the reunification of China.
