Optic Techs & Personal Digital Products to Be Exhibited in Beijing

A series of exhibitions and seminars will be held from October 17 to 20 here to display the latest optoelectronic technologies and personal digital products.

About 300 producers and research institutes in this field from China, Germany and the Republic of Korea, among other countries, will attend the exhibitions with an area of 15,000 square meters, according to the sponsor, the China International Exhibition Corporation (CIEC).

The exhibitions will display advanced optic materials, input and output equipment and medical equipment applying laser technologies as well as personal digital products such as digital cameras, mobile phones and palmtops.

Experts here said that optoelectronic technologies are vital keeping the Internet and information industry up to date. For instance, they have strong influence on the development of broad- band networks and new digital products.

China has established several optics valleys and optoelectronic parks in east China's Shanghai City, northeast China's Changchun City and central China's Wuhan City. Some of them have attracted domestic and overseas information companies.

Delegates from these optics valleys and parks will be present at the seminar on the development of the optoelectronic technologies and industry to be held during the period of time, together with related experts and government officials.
