Int'l Symposium on Regional Cooperation Held in NW China

An international symposium on cooperation among regions along the Eurasian Continental Bridge linking Asia and Europe opened on Wednesday in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Over 300 representatives from foreign countries along the Eurasian Continental Bridge, and international organizations participated in the opening ceremony.

The two-day symposium was held by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Ministry of Information Industry, and the United Nations Development Program.

Participants will discuss how governments and international organizations can share resources efficiently, how harmonious regional development can be maintained and how information sharing can be accelerated between cities along the Eurasian Continental Bridge.

The 10,000-km Asia-Europe continental bridge, known as the new Silk Road, links China's coastal regions with Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
