Private Enterprises in Shandong Report Increase in Exports

The total exports of private enterprises in east China's Shandong Province reached 122 million U.S. dollars in the first nine months of the year, surging 119.7 percent over the same period last year.

According to statistics, 200 more private enterprises were authorized to engage in foreign trade during the period, which accounted for almost 70 percent of all the private enterprises that have been allowed to conduct export business.

To encourage more private enterprise to engage in foreign trade, the province has taken a series of measures since early this year, ranging from simplifying approval formalities to offering preferential loans.

Many Shandong-based private enterprises have established distribution bases or even built processing plants in foreign countries, local officials said.
