World Eldest Kidney Donor Healthy After Operation

A 71-year-old woman donated a kidney to her 33 daughter and both are healthy after a successful transplant operation in a Gaozhou city hospital, in south China's Guangdong province.

During the operation on August 18, Xia Miao donated a kidney to her daughter Su Hongmei. Xia is believed to be the oldest person to do so in the world, said the hospital sources.

In addition to normal treatment, the hospital adopted Chinese traditional remedy to help Xia recover.

Mother and daughter have left hospital after thorough examinations showing normal functioning of all internal organs.
