(2) Successful Liver Transplant Operation Performed in Beijing

With advice from a group of 18 liver transplant specialists from Taiwan, Chinese doctors of the No. 1 Clinical Hospital attached to Beijing University have successfully transplanted three fifths of the liver of Chen's mother into her body, who had congenital liver cirrhosis and had suffered repeated hemorrhagic shock in the past three years. The operations began at 8:30 Monday morning, and finished at around 3:00 Tuesday morning.
