Li, 24, is nicknamed a "tomboy", for she is as spirited and proficient in techniques as a male player . A right-hander using the tennis grip, she can launch attacks from both sides. In competitions she often surprises the viewers with her unexpected wonderful strokes . In Sydney, she will cooperate with Wang Nan and compete for the title in the women's doubles. They are expected to live up to the status of Deng Yaping and Qiao Hong who, in their time, formed the "double insurance" guaranteeing victory in the women's singles and doubles.
