Highlights of the VIP Tour

Following the successful two-day China Internet Venture 2000 Conference conducted by the China Internet Group, a small delegation of Venture Capitalists were taken on a whirlwind five day tour covering the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

Day 1, Thursday June 8

Morning: Sight-seeing at the Great Wall of China. Afternoon: Toured the famous Forbidden City

Meeting with the vice mayor of Beijing Lin Wen Yi.

Late afternoon: Met with Beijing’s Vice Mayor Lin Wen Yi, and Mr. Fan Boyuan, Chairman of the Beijing Science & Technology Commission.

Day 2, Friday June 9

Morning: Toured the Feng Tai technology park Afternoon: Met with the Beijing Science and Technology Commission.

Evening: Arrived in the exciting city of Shanghai.

Day 3, Saturday June 10

Morning: Met with the Shanghai Science & Technology Committe

Afternoon: Visited the Zhang Jiang High Tech Park in the Pu Tong district of Shanghai and met with key technological members from the Pu Tong Science and Industry commission.

Day 4, June 11

Morning: Visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University, met with the president of the university Professor Xie Sheng Wu, and met with entrepreneur representatives at the university

Afternoon: Flew to Shenzhen

Day 5, June 12

Morning: Toured the Shenzhen offices of China Internet Group and visited several of CIG’s member companies including Forbrand .com, PaperEC.com, ChinaPic.com, and BioEngine.com. Afternoon: Met with Mr. Cao Jia Geng, the assistant director of the Shenzhen Science and Technology Bureau.

Evening: Met and dinned with the Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, Mr. Zhuan Xinyi.

All the events were extensively covered by newspaper magazine and television reporters.
