Chen Jinhua, Vice-Chairman of Ninth CPPCC

Chen, male;
born August, 1929; a native of Qingyang County, Anhui Province; joined Communist Party of
China (CPC) and started work in February, 1949; graduated from People's University of
China and Beijing Television University.
Worked
successively in Ministry of Textile Industry and Ministry of Light Industry after founding
of New China in 1949; served as head of planning group of Ministry of Light Industry from
1971 to 1976.
Worked in
Shanghai from 1977 to 1983 and served successively as Standing Committee member of CPC
Shanghai Municipal Committee, deputy Party secretary and vice mayor of Shanghai and
director of Shanghai Municipal Planning Commission.
Served as
general manager of China Petrochemical Corporation from 1983 to 1990; minister in charge
of State Commission for Economic Restructuring from 1990 to 1993.
Serving as
minister in charge of State Planning Commission since 1993.
Member of 14th
CPC Central Committee.
