Chen Junsheng, Vice-Chairman of CPPCC National Committee

Chen, a native of Huanan County, Heilongjiang province; born June, 1927; from 1946 to 1948, worked as member of Mass Movement Group in Yilan County, Hejiang (today's Heilongjiang province) and as member of Second Work Group of Provincial Government in charge of organizational affairs Yidong County.

In 1949, served as personal secretary to first secretary of CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee; from 1950 to 1957, worked in Suihua, Fuyu and Keshan counties as head of CPC county committee publicity department and secretary of CPC county committee (Keshan);

From 1973 to 1984, worked as deputy director and director of policy research office under CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, deputy director and director of General Office of provincial Party committee, member of standing committee and secretary-general of provincial Party committee, and concurrently secretary of CPC Qiqihar Municipal Committee.

Worked as secretary (no first secretary then) and deputy secretary of CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee in 1981-1984.

Served as vice-president of All-China Federation of Trade Unions and deputy director of Rural Policy Research Office under CPC Central Committee during 1984-85. Worked as secretary-general of State Council from 1985 to 1988 and as a State councillor since 1988. Has been a member of 13th and 14th CPC Central Committees.
