Mao, male;
born November, 1929; a native of Yueyang, Hunan Province; joined Communist Party of China
(CPC) December, 1952; started work July, 1951; junior middle school education; former
secretary of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and former chairman of Standing Committee of
Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress.
Served as
secretary of CPC Yueyang County Committee from 1964 to 1966; deputy Party secretary of
Yueyang and Changde Prefectures in Hunan Province from 1966 to 1971; deputy
secretary-general of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee from 1971 to 1973; first secretary and
secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee from 1977 to 1988.
Served as
secretary of CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee from 1988 to 1995; chairman of Standing
Committee of Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress from 1993 to January, 1998.
Member of CPC
11th to 14th Central Committees.
