Jiang Zhenghua, Vice-Chairman of NPC Standing Committee
Following is a biographical sketch of Jiang Zhenghua:
Jiang, male, of Han nationality, born in October
1937, native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, member of Committee
of Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP).
Graduated from Electrical Machinery Department of
Xi'an Jiaotong University, 1958; served as lecturer and deputy
director of Systematic Engineering Research Institute, 1958-80;
studied as graduate student at Bombay International Demography
Academy, India, 1980-1982; director of Population and Economics
Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University, professor, 1982-1991;
vice-chairman of State Family Planning Commission and vice-chairman
of CPWDP Central Committee, 1991-97; chairman of CPWDP Central
Committee since 1997.
He was member of Seventh National Committee of Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and member
of Standing Committee of Eighth CPPCC National Committee.
