The Third Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC) is holding its closing meeting in Beijing on March 15 afternoon.

     Communist Party of China (CPC) and state leaders are present at the meeting.

     The meeting is scheduled to vote on a draft resolution on the Government Work Report; vote on a draft resolution on the Report on the Implementation of the 1999 National Economic and Social Development Plan and the Plan for 2000 National Economic and Social Development; vote on a draft resolution on the Report on the Implementation of the Central and Local Budgets for 1999 and on the Central and Local Budgets for 2000; vote on a draft resolution on the Work Report of the NPC Standing Committee; vote on a draft Legislation Law; vote on a draft resolution on the Work

     Report of the Supreme People's Court; vote on a draft resolution on the Work Report of the Supreme People's Procuratorate; vote on a draft decision by the NPC Standing Committee to accept Edmund Ho Hau Wah's application for resignation from the post as a NPC Standing Committee member.

     Li Peng, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, China's top legislator, will deliver a speech at the end of the plenary meeting.
