The NPC Standing Committee is the permanent organ of the National
People's Congress. It is responsible to the Congress and reports to
the Congress on its work. It is composed of the chairman, the
vice-chairmen, the secretary-general, and other members. No one on
the NPC Standing Committee may hold office in any of the
administrative, judicial or procuratorial organs of the state. The
Standing Committees are elected for the same five-year term as the
National People's Congress.
