Internet entrepreneurs take top three places in Forbes China 2014

The Forbes China website has announced its Rich List for China 2014. In this year's list, China's Internet entrepreneurs have become the focus. The top three rankings go to Jack Ma from Alibaba, Robin Li from Baidu, and Ma Huateng from Tencent. In terms of the general picture, there has been a sharp increase in the number of Chinese billionaires - up from 168 last year to 242 this year.

Fresh from his listing in the U.S., Jack Ma's net assets soared from USD 7.1 billion last year to USD 19.5 billion this year. He takes the title of China's richest man for the first time; Robin Li from Baidu ranked second, with a net asset increase from USD 11.1 billion last year to USD 14.7 billion this years; Ma Huateng's wealth rose from USD 10.2 billion last year to USD 14.4 billion this year, moving him up in the rankings from fifth to third.

The list's top ten entrepreneurs also feature some big names from the technology industry such as Lei Jun, chairman of Xiaomi, and Liu Qiang, chairman of JD.COM.
