NANNING, Nov. 22 -- Eighteen people were injured in a bus fire in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said local authorities on Saturday.

The bus caught fire when it was running at a crossroad in Liuzhou City on Friday evening. The flames were put out half an hour later.

All the injured were sent to a hospital. As of 8 p.m. Friday, 12 remained in hospital and six were discharged.

About 40 to 50 passengers were in the bus when it was on fire.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
