Mining Security Stressed in China

Coal Mine Explosion Stranded 106 in East China (20010723)

A total of 106 miners were stranded at a small coal mine in Xuzhou City, east China's Jiangsu Province, Sunday morning as the result of an explosion, but there was no reports on casualties. Photo shows ambulances waiting beside the well for rescued workers. 

Xinjiang Closed Down Small Mine Pits (20010531)

Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bountiful in coal mine resources, has recently closed down all small mine pits engaging in illegal coal mining, according to a circular issued by the State Council.

Safty Production in Coal Mine (20010531)

Workers take electromobiles into a mine shaft at the Daliuta Mine in northwest China's Shaanxi Province May 30, 2001. The mine with an annual production of 14 million tons of coal has run safely for 550 days without any accident.
