CPPCC Chairman Meets Fijian President
Li Ruihuan, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, or CPPCC, met with Fijian President Josefa Iloilo Wednesday. The leader of China's top advisory body arrived in Fiji Sunday for a five-day official goodwill visit.

Li Ruihuan said that this year is the "UN Year of Dialogue among civilizations," and many countries have undertaken special activities to make this year meaningful.

He noted that all civilizations are closely linked to, and affected by, each other. As economic globalization grows, this link is even closer and the impact is felt even more. He said life is meaningless if all things in the world are the same.

Fijian President Josefa Iloilo said he hoped China would become even more developed and prosperous. He stated that friendly ties between China and Fiji have demonstrated that different civilizations can live in harmony. He said he hopes to expand cooperation with China and to work to promote human civilization.
