China appreciates the one-China stance held by the Netherlands and its refusal to sell arms to Taiwan, said Fu Quanyou, chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), Tuesday.

Fu, also a member of the Central Military Commission, made the remark while meeting with Dutch Minister of Defense Frank De Grave.

In recent years, he said, China and the Netherlands have furthered their friendly cooperation and exchanges, with frequent high-level visits and sound economic and trade relations.

As an important part of bilateral relations, Fu said, the relations between the two armed forces are also developing healthily. Fu expressed the belief that, with joint efforts, the two countries' all-round military relations will be promoted.

De Grave said that Sino-Dutch ties have been developing smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic relations. The two governments attach great importance to mutual friendship and cooperation.

The Netherlands will continue to uphold its one-China stance, and seek to expand its cooperation with Chinese armed forces, he said.
