Xiaolangdi with Its Main Part Completed
Xiaolangdi Hydroelectric Plant with its 6th hydro-set was formally put into operation Dec. 27, 10 o'clock am, thereby completing construction of the main part of Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy Project.

Xiaolangdi Water Conservancy Project is a key water-control project built at the last mountain gap on the middle reaches of the Yellow River. At a point controlling over 92.3 percent of the whole catchment area, it regulates 91.2 percent of natural water flows and nearly as much high as 100 percent of silt contents of the Yellow River.

In spite of all possible difficulties met as small construction space and overlapping jobs having to go through, builders at Xiaolangdi have by now completed as scheduled the task in installing and putting into operation all of their six hydro-sets since launching their first worm-gear hydro-set September 1998. Hydroelectricity has since been generated reportedly to a total of 2.65 billion Kwh.
