Lebanese resistance guerrillas Hezbollah (Party of God) has pledged that the group will not enter ceasefire negotiation with Israel, the Oriental radio reported on Saturday.

The pledge was made by Nabil Kawook, Hezbollah's commander in the south Lebanon, during his meeting with about 100 religious leaders from 30 Arab and Muslim states on Friday in south Lebanon.

The visitors were in Lebanon to attend the conference of Saving Jerusalem and Support for Palestinian People, which was held on Thursday in Beirut.

Nabil Kawook said that the resistance is "in full readiness to retaliate against any Israeli aggression."

He stressed that "the resistance's decision is that the Lebanese-Palestinian (Israeli) borders remain a cause of anxiety and pain for Israel. Israeli posts along the border and in the disputed Shebaa Farms would be a constant target."

"Resistance can not provide guarantees or assurances, nor enter into bargaining to ceasefire or stop the operations," said the senior Hezbollah officer.

He also noted that the U.S. designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization "reaffirmed that America is in a position of total enmity with the resistance movement, Palestinian intifada (Uprising) and Muslim nations."

Kawook claimed that "a day will never come when America can achieve any gains in the interest of the Israeli enemy, as Lebanon is not the appropriate field for realizing American political or security victories."

The Iranian and Syrian-backed Hezbollah spearheaded fighting against Israel's occupation in south Lebanon and partly forced the Jewish country to end its 22-year occupation and pulled out from Lebanon in May 2000.
