Haier, Sampo Team Up to Explore Cross-Straits Markets

Chinese mainland's leading electronic appliance maker Haier and Taiwan-based Sampo Corporation signed a strategic alliance agreement here Wednesday to market each other's products.

Chinese mainland's leading electronic appliance maker Haier and Taiwan-based Sampo Corporation signed a strategic alliance agreement here Wednesday to market each other's products.

The alliance will enable the two sides to take advantage of each other's winning edges, make use of each other's resources andmaximize the benefits for both, said Yang Mianmian, president of the Haier Group.

Under the agreement, Haier and Sampo will market each other's products, including home appliances, IT electronic products, telecommunications products and electronic accessories.

Furthermore, the two electronic giants will also outsource eachother's electronic parts and cooperate and make joint investment under their strategic alliance agreement, executives of the two companies said.
