Saddam Receives Gift of Gold Sword from UAE

Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan, representing President Saddam Hussein, on Sunday received a gold sword from Mohammad Amr Bin Yusuf and Abdul Rahman Ahmed from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan, representing President Saddam Hussein, on Sunday received a gold sword from Mohammad Amr Bin Yusuf and Abdul Rahman Ahmed from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

The sword is studded with diamonds and natural pearls, the INA said.

During his meeting with the two UAE citizens, Ramadan appreciated the gift as well as the friendly relations between the two countries, the INA said.

Saddam received a Boeing plane last August as a present from an Arab business delegation, in addition to another Boeing 747 passenger plane from Sheikh Hamad Bin Al-Thani, head of the Qatari Sagar Airways in November, 2000.
