Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji Tuesday urged Israel and Palestine to stop all conflicts and the use of force to create a positive atmosphere for an early reopening of talks.

At a meeting with Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, Zhu said the bloodshed between Israel and Palestine has lasted for a year and a half, and has resulted in a huge number of casualties and heavy property losses.
