ISSF World Cup Opens in Shanghai
The 2002 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup meeting which opened here on Sunday has attracted 748 shooters from 57 countries and regions.
The 2002 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup meeting which opened here on Sunday has attracted 748 shooters from 57 countries and regions.
Competitions start on Monday offer a total of 17 titles.
The participants will also be vying for the qualification for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
The 85-shooter-Chinese team is spearheaded by veteran pistol shooter and former Olympic champion Wang Yifu and Sydney Olympic gold-medalists Tao Luna and Yang Ling. Also in the team are some up-and-coming shooters who had performed well at World Cup series.
Among the participants from abroad are such world-class shooters as French Olympic champions in men's 10-meter air pistol Dumoulin Franck and in women's double trap event Handsen Pia.
