Sources from ongoing China Symposium on indoor air quality vs. health lately reveal a high indoor excess mortality rate: Placed at a yearly 2 million from a polluted air in the developing countries and a 4% of illness due to a deteriorated indoor environment.
Statistics by concerned Chinese departments already point to a worse indoor air from an increased amount of chemical, physical and biological pollutants at a yearly excess mortality rate of as many as 11.1 million in China: Excess outpatients number over 220,000; excess emergency cases 4.30 million. From a seriously polluted indoor environment great losses have been incurred. Take the year of 1995 alone, the losses were made known for a record worth of 10.7 billion yuan.
Experts told that China has its indoor pollutants chiefly from construction projects, room refurbishment and furniture being used: Formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia and an excess of radioactive pollution included have done all their harm on people's health. So it is advised that people should in no way ignore the ill effect of a life with pollutants from various construction and decorative purposes and materials to be used when an all-time watch on room air quality is kept in daily life.
