In an exclusive interview with Xinhua in the day ahead of his official visit to China on April 27-30, Hariri said that Lebanon cherishes the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, adding that Lebanon will not accept any activity that will hurt such relations..

He spoke highly of China's long-term support to the just cause of Lebanon and other Arab countries.

The prime minister said that economic and trade cooperation between the two nations has scored considerable achievement in recent years, and bilateral trade reached 300 million U.S. dollars at the end of last year, 10 times that of the 1996 figure.

Meanwhile, he hoped that the two countries would work together to narrow the trade deficit which is in favor of China. "We welcome Chinese businessmen and companies to participate in the rebuilding campaign and to invest in Lebanon," he said.

He pledged that Lebanon will offer favorable treatment for those who want to invest in Lebanon.
