Boeing Willing to Assist in Air Crash Investigation
Boeing (China) Wednesday expressed condolence to the family members of victims of an air crash that took place Tuesday night near Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.

In a brief statement issued here Wednesday morning, the companyalso expressed willingness to offer help in related investigationsinto the accident.
The crashed plan, a MD-82 with the serial number of 1702, was delivered in July 1991. By the time it crashed, the plane had flown a total of 26,000 hours, taking off and landing on 16,000 occasions successfully, the statement said.
The MD-82, belonging to China Northern Airlines, was flying from Beijing to Dalian carrying 103 passengers and nine crew when it crashed into the sea Tuesday night after a fire was reported inthe cabin.
