Chinese PLA Navy Task Group Ends Visit to Singapore

The Global Visiting Group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy left Singapore's Changi Naval Port Sunday to continue its voyage.

The Global Visiting Group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy left Singapore's Changi Naval Port Sunday to continue its voyage.

This is the fist visit to the country by Chinese naval ships. Singapore is the first leg of the ongoing global voyage by the task group which is composed of missile destroyer "Qing Dao" and replenishment ship "Taicang".

During the visit, Rear Admiral Ding Yiping, commander of the Chinese Navy Task Group, called on Permanent Secretary of Singapore Defense Ministry Peter Ho Hak Ean and other ranking officers.

The two Chinese navy ships were opened to the public on Saturday and attracted more than 1,500 people aboard for a visit.
