FM Spokesman on Russian Defense Minister's China Visit

The upcoming China visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, his first since he took office, will be very important for China, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan.

The upcoming China visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, his first since he took office, will be very important for China, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan.

Kong said in a regular press briefing in Beijing on Thursday that Ivanov will pay an official goodwill visit to China from May 31 to June 2.

During his visit, Ivanov will exchange ideas with Chi Haotian, Chinese State Councilor and Defense Minister, on bilateral military relations and issues of common concern, said Kong, addingthat some Chinese state leaders will also meet Ivanov.
