Top Chinese leaders attended an evening gala Friday at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate International Children's Day, which falls June 1.

Top Chinese leaders attended an evening gala Friday at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate International Children's Day, which falls June 1.

Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Hu Jintao, Wei Jianxing and Li Lanqing joined the audience in Beijing watching the performances and extended festival congratulations to all children across China.

The show, performed by children, demonstrated Chinese children's creativity and aspirations.

After the show, Jiang led the other leaders onto the stage to take photos with the little performers.
