Air Bus Plane Settles in North China
Aiming at long-term cooperation with China's aviation industry, Airbus will spend 7 to ten years in shifting all its production and assembling of A320 wings into China, President of Airbus China Guy McLeod told the press on June 25.

A320 is among the most sophisticated passenger planes in the world. Its wing parts manufactured by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation and Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Co. Ltd have recently been successfully assembled for the first time in UK, Airbus's wing production base. This shows that China is technologically capable to produce parts of the most sophisticated planes.

Talks for the second stage cooperation on A320 wings are now underway, said McLeod, which involves more plane parts and therefore requires higher technological levels from Chinese companies.

A work group has bee jointly set up by airbus's China and UK divisions to supervise progress of the project, which holds meetings at Shenyang, Xi'an or Beijing every week.

Airbus A340-600 Makes Debut in China
The industrial cooperation between Airbus and China's aviation markets started in 1985, with the North China Administration of China Civil Aviation, today's China Eastern Airlines being the first Chinese client of Airbus, which was followed by parts production in China. Now besides the two above mentioned companies in Shenyang and Xi'an, Chengdu Aircraft Industry (Group) Co, Ltd and Guizhou Aviation Industry Group also entered cooperation with Airbus.
