Chinese Vice-Premier Meets With HK Journalists

Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen met Monday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel with journalists of Hong Kong's Ta Kung Pao daily.

Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen met Monday at the Grand Hyatt Hotel with journalists of Hong Kong's Ta Kung Pao daily.

Qian praised the daily for the active role it has played since its founding a century ago and for its contributions to promoting Hong Kong's smooth transition and its prosperity and stability.

Qian was here to attend the celebrations of the fifth anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony for the second term Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government.

Jiang Enzhu, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR and Wang Fengchao, deputy director were present at the meeting.
