The parliament of Somalia has expressed its support to the decision made by the national transitional government calling for international forces to intervene into Somalia so as to disarm the Somalis.

The decision was made by the government on Saturday urging the United Nations to send international troops to the country to disarm Somalis and make peace eventually.

The backing expressed by the parliament on Sunday arosed littlereaction from the side of the warlords opposing to the government in this regard.

However, warlord Muse Sudi Yalahow, who was celebrating the national Independence Day on Monday, said his faction and the Ethiopian-backed Somali Reconciliation and Restoration Council as a whole need a further explanation to the call made by the government.

Warlord Muse Sudi Yalahow said it is too soon for the government to make such a decision.

"Such decision could only be made when the Somalis agree on common agenda about the fate of the country," he said.

"And this will not be until the various Somali factions meet ina national reconciliation conference and draw a conclusion together to ask for such intervention," he added.

"The only way we could accept an international force to come toSomalia is if they are going to disarm the terrorists and Abdiqasim Salad Hassan [the president]," said Muse Sudi.

He said there is no foreign aggression or invasion coming into Somalia, therefore there is no need for such an outcry.

This reaction by warlord Muse Sudi Yalahow came after the interim government of Somalia has appealed the international community especially the Security Council of the United Nations tosend international troops to disarm the various Somali communitiesand faction leaders.

Even since the downfall of the late regime now 12 years ago, Somalia has fallen into chaotic situation and anarchy where all the people are armed to the teeth.

Likewise, the neighboring country of Ethiopia has since 1996 been supplying weapons and ammunition for faction they supported inside Somalia thus increasing the amount of weapons inside the country which has fallen into the hands of the mainly irresponsible civilians.

There's now a new hope that a reconciliation conference will beheld for the Somalis in neighboring Kenya under the auspices of the Inter-Governmental Authority for Development (IGAD).

The conference has had several snags mainly from the differences among the technical committee consisting of Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti, but it now seems the other IGAD members countries of the Sudan, Uganda and Eritrea will also interfere into matter with the backing of the IGAD partners such as Egypt, Italy and others.
