Shanghai to Build 8-inch Silicon-package Production Line

A complete production line of 8-inch silicon-package, first of its kind in China's mainland, will be established in Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park in Shanghai Pudong New District. This is an important cooperation between AEC Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co. Ltd and APIA.

The AEC Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co. Ltd, with the first-period investment of US$400 mn from Chinese, American, and Japanese giants, was established in March 2001. It has become another key project settled in Zhangjiang High-tech Park after Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation and Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation.

In addition, an opening ceremony for the new Research & Development Base of Shanghai Fudan-Zhangjiang Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., LTD. was also launched Friday.
