Thailand media lately reported that altogether 400-ton Denmark-made polluted "Dumex" milk powder has been shipped to Thailand, China and Philippines.
Sources from Thailand say that the Food and Drug Administration of Thailand (FDA) has announced that Mamex series and Mamil series milk powder, produced by Denmark-based Arinco company, have been polluted by light gray grain matters, which were possibly divulged from metal and lube. And Thailand FDA and Dumex Thailand Co., Ltd. have reached consensus on recovering the 135-ton polluted milk powder in Thailand.
An urgent investigation showed that all "Dumex" milk powder sold in Beijing are made in Shanghai. As the domestic producer of Dumex, the International Nutrition Co., Ltd. (INC) responded that it has completed production localization ten years ago. The polluted milk powder Mamex and Mamil are two other brands and their production directions are different from the domestic Dumex. So the polluted and domestic Dumex milk powder are independent of each other, according to INC CFO Lu Bin.
