A special investigating commission of the Peruvian Congress Tuesday accused the ousted former President Alberto Fujimori and three of his ministers of treason.

The three are former Prime Minister Alberto Pandolfi, former Economy Minister Jorge Camet and former Defense Minister Tomas Castillo, Walter Alejos, vice president of the commission, told foreign media.

He added that those accused all belonged to the National Defense Council and committed economic and financial crime during Fujimori's presidency from 1990 to 2000.

The commission said some 2 billion US dollars was used to purchase weapons during the border war with Ecuador in 1995, by adopting seven laws, 22 emergency decrees and 205 secret decrees.

"Internal agreements were made among the government's elite, which made use of the state funds," said Alejos, adding that thoseaccused even used secret accords to buy sabers and horses.

The congress will debate on the accusation, said Alejos.
