Government Army Defeats Rebel's Attack in Northern Uganda
The Ugandan People's Defense Forces (UPDF) on Thursday battled to flush out the Lord Resistance Army (LRA) rebels who had infiltrated in northern Uganda, the New Visionreported on Friday.

The UPDF special units, which were re-organized recently on theorders of President Yoweri Museveni, joined the heavy fighting lasting three hours.
Two rebels were killed in the battle.
A mother and her two children were killed when a bomb hit theirhouse. At least 29 huts were burnt by the rebels in the region.
The battle took place when Museveni still camped in Gulu town in northern Uganda.
Meanwhile, the UPDF also said the army foiled on Thursday a raid on Lira town in the northern Uganda and killed 14 LRA rebels there.
