China Wants to Sweep Diving Golds in Asian Games

Chinese divers will strive for a clean sweep of gold medals in the Asian Games, slated for Sept. 29-Oct. 14 in Busan, South Korea, a Chinese diving official said on Tuesday.

Chinese divers will strive for a clean sweep of gold medals in the Asian Games, slated for Sept. 29-Oct. 14 in Busan, South Korea, a Chinese diving official said on Tuesday.

Possible challenge to China's 8-gold ambition may come from Japan, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Kazakhstan, said Chinese team leader Zhou Jihong.

The Chinese divers for the Asian Games were announced on Monday:

Men's 10m platform:

Tian Liang, Hu Jian, Xu Xiang and Xu Hao;

Men's 3m springboard:

Wang Tianling, Wang Feng, Wang Kenan and Peng Bo;

Women's 10m platform:

Li Na, Li Ting, Lao Lishi and Duan Qing;

Women's 3m springboard:

Guo Jingjing and Wu Minxia

Women's substitutes:

Yang Yuting and Peng Yujiao
