The Albanian and Yugoslavian governments decided Monday to upgrade their diplomatic relations to ambassadorial level with the improvement of their relations.

According to the sources from Albanian Foreign Ministry and Yugoslavian Embassy in Tirana, Albanian Foreign Minister Ilir Metasuggested the two sides to provide each other with facilities for the visa of businessmen, doctors and artists.

Albania and Yugoslavia have decided to exempt mutually visas for those who hold diplomatic or service passports.

Albania and Yugoslavia should open negotiations to sign cooperation documents on transports, free trade and medical treatment, Meta said.

In a recent interview with Xinhua, Yugoslavia's charge d'affaires to Tirana Cafo Kapetanovic said that the Yugoslavian government responded actively to Meta's advice.

The relations between Albania and Yugoslavia were strained for half a century for Kosovo and other issues. The two countries evenbroke off relations in 1999 when the Kosovo war broke out. But then they expressed their expectations to strengthen cooperations, especially after they resumed diplomatic relations last year.
