China's Biggest Grain Warehouse Goes Into Use
China's largest grain warehouse, with a storage capacity of 600,000 tons, went into use recently in Beiliang port of Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
China's largest grain warehouse, with a storage capacity of 600,000 tons, went into use recently in Beiliang port of Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
An official with the State Grain Administration said the use of Beiliang grain warehouse will greatly improve the country's grain reserve and distribution.
He said the warehouse will give Chinese grain a more competitive edge on international market and speed up the modernization of China's grain circulation.
Beiliang grain warehouse is the biggest building in China's granary construction program which plans to store a total of 25 million tons of grain.
The warehouse consists of 20 column granaries, with each having32 meters in interior diameter and 45.8 meters height. All loading, unloading, storing and moving procedures can be done in an automated way.
