The men's gymnastic team competition, which starts Tuesday, could be vital for China, said former world champion Huang Liping Monday evening.
Huang Liping, who this time acts as gymnastics judge in Busan Asian Games, said:"Experience shows that if the Chinese team expects to collect more golds in gymnastics, they should have a good performance in the team event."
If the Chinese team takes the team gold, it could boost their morale and confidance in individual apparatus.
The Chinese team is formed by Sydney Olympic team champion members, Li Xiaopeng, Yang Wei and Huang Xu and three of their junior fellows Feng Jing, Teng Haibin and Liang Fuliang.
Their major opponents in Busan will be Japan and South Korea atthe fortnight 14th Asian Games, which kicked off on Sunday.
