Attack on Iraq not 'Unavoidable', Bush Says

US President George W. Bush was to say on Monday that his effort to seek Congressional authorization of use of force does not mean military action against Iraq is "imminent or unavoidable."

US President George W. Bush was to say on Monday that his effort to seek Congressional authorization of use of force does not mean military action against Iraq is "imminent or unavoidable."

But Bush, in a speech to be delivered in Cincinnati, Ohio, willreiterate that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein must disarm or the US will lead a coalition to disarm him, according to excerpts of the speech released by the White House.

Bush will use the speech to lay out his case against Iraq aheadof Congressional debates over a resolution authorizing him to use military means to deal with Baghdad.
