Chinese female veteran hurdler Feng Yun, 31, clocked 12.96 seconds to win the women's 100 meters hurdles at the Busan Asian Games on Thursday morning.

This was the seventh gold for the Chinese Asiad athletics team.

Feng's teammate Su Yiping, 23, clocked 13.01 seconds to garner the silver, while Trecia Roberts of Thailand finished third in 13.07 seconds.

Feng, who was the runner-up in the national championships, saidthat she is not superior to Su in technique. "But I made full preparation both meatally and physically before the duel with her."

Feng, who conceded the gold medal to Su in the ninth Chinese national games in Guangzhou last year, ran in parallel with Su andRoberts until the sixth hurdle where she began to accelerate to take the lead.

"Both Su and I did not make any mistakes in technique today. But I beat her. I feel really great." Feng said.

"I will try my best to go further ahead in the world athletic championships next year," she added.

Su, who was the most hopeful candidate for the event's title, said after the final,"I don't care much about whether Feng or I clinch the title. I am very glad to see that this gold belongs to China."
