Chinese Tian Wins 10m Platform Title at Asiad Games
Chinese Olympic champion Tian Liang crowned in the men's 10 meters platform and completed a clean-sweep for the Chinese diving team in the Asian Games Sunday evening.

Tian, who entered the final with a second place finish in the semifinal, took the lead from his first dive in the evening and collected a total of 688.95 points for the title.

Tagged as Prince on the Platform, Tian scored game-high 90.72 points for his fourth routine, back 3-1/2 somersaults with the highest degree of difficulty 3.6 among all the competitors.

Chinese Xu Xiang, World Cup one-meter springboard winner, snatched the silver in 668.43, thanks to his 88.74-point last dive, beating Jo Chol-ryoung of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea into third in 664.68.

However, the defending champion was disappointed for his under-par performance. Tian said that "this is the worst performance I have scored in recent years. I didn't feel well in the morning and I could not find my usual form on the platform and I did not know why."

"It's a lesson for me. I may not win the international meet with such a poor performance," Tian said.

Xu was also unhappy for his routines. The 21-year-old said that"my fifth dive was terrible. I should perform better because I made progress from hard-training for last four months."

Bronze medalist Jo said that "I am a little bit disappointed for the results. I did not feel any pressure from neither Olympic champion Tian nor world champion Xu."

China wrapped the titles in all of the four synchronized eventsand placed one-two finishes in all the singles contests during thesix-day diving competition.

It is the seventh consecutive time for the all-conquering Chinese divers to take all the Asiad glories since 1978.
